Oscar de La Renta Spring 2011 Ready To Wear Beauty

Revlon’s Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman created a modern day princess look to compliment the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2011 Ready To Wear Collection. Using large brushes (to avoid edges), Westman applied Revlon Matte Eye shadow in Venetian Blue to the eyelids and just below the lower lash line. She noted that rimming the inner eyelids with black liner gives the look a fresh feel. Try Revlon Luxurious Color Eyeliner in Black Velvet. Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara in Blackest Black was applied to the top and lower lashes.

“The clothes are so beautiful – classic Oscar. I really wanted to do a smoky eye with color” and “I wanted to show that color can be worn in a sophisticated way. We wanted the girls to be vibrant and happy and chose to highlight the face with rich green shades on the eye. The jewel-tones just pop and compliment the entire collection. It’s a great way to lighten up the traditional smoky eye for spring.” Gucci Westman, Revlon’s Global Artistic Director

Z Spoke Spring 2011 Ready To Wear Beauty

Z Spoke by Zac Posen Spring 2011 Ready To Wear was dazzling and daring, inspired by street theater and performers. With this in mind, Charlotte Willer, Lead Makeup Artist Maybelline created a brilliant green, yellow and blue eye with eyeshadow from Maybelline’s Eye Studio quad color collection. Willer coated lashes with plenty of Maybelline Volum’ Express the Falsies Mascara for a “flirty feel” and cheeks were “chic” and “sculpted” thanks to Maybelline Mineral Power Blush in Gentle Pink. Brows were brushed up for an unkempt, windswept effect.

"This season's Z Spoke by Zac Posen collection is all about celebrating the femininity, brains, humor and sex appeal of the American woman. It has a strong vibe with pops of color. I want to mimic this aesthetic with the makeup. This look is very wearable and this soft-edgy mix is a fresh approach to makeup.” Charlotte Willer, Lead Makeup Artist Maybelline

Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 Ready To Wear Beauty

Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 Ready To Wear celebrated the glamour and lush life of the seventies with Jerry Hall and Angelica Houston for inspiration and François Nars on beauty. First, the model’s brows were bleached. Nars layered emerald green and black eyeshadow. NARS Duo Eye Shadow Misfit and Pandora. The slick look was created by coating the shadow with Vaseline. Nars on bleaching the brows:

"It still gives makeup a decedent look, and it's more interesting and wild. If you remember, in the early Seventies, brows were not really featured." François Nars

Betsey Johnson Spring 2011 Ready To Wear Beauty

A girl who’s taken a ride on a pink bicycle through the city, over the bridge, stopping at the park for ice cream inspired the colorful Betsey Johnson Spring 2011 Ready To Wear collection. Stila makeup artist Sarah Lucero trimmed the curls off the ends of false eyelashes to represent bicycle spokes. According to Lucero, it was “Betsey’s request was a kelly green color.” Lucero intensified vivid green Stila eyeshadow by applying it wet and painting it on the entire eye. Stila Eye Shadow Trio Going Green includes three greens to create looks from sheer to dramatic. Lucero applied a hot pink hue on cheeks for a “flush” effect. Get the perfect pink for your cheeks with Stila Custom Color Blush. It is the first-ever pH-based powder that takes the guesswork out of picking the perfect shade. Lucero had this to say about the look:

“It’s colorful, optimistic and happy.” Sarah Lucero, Stila Makeup Artist
